If you read our post last week on the most shared Facebook posts from TV shows, you’ll see a similar theme. Video is making a big impact on Facebook.
This week’s list is also for the month of July. The brands analyzed include Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Dior, Versace, Armani, Burberry Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein. Channel had the #1 spot, including 5 of the 10 most shared posts. Also making the top 10 were Dior, Dolce & Gabbana and Louis Vuitton.
This week’s top10 list features 8 videos out of 10 posts, compared to 9 of 10 for last week. And given that last week’s list was for TV shows, a natural for video, it’s even more meaningful seeing video so dominant among the most shared Facebook posts for fashion brands.
I’ll reference the same report we did last week, which is from several years ago. Even then it was clear video was on the rise.
And similar to last week, the majority of posts aren’t getting what I’d consider extremely heavy promotion. In the % figure on the far right of the list, you can see the estimated percent of engagements that came from some form of external (read: non-organic) influence. And while that could be PR or a heavily-read blog, it’s almost always due to paying for impressions. Here’s our methodology for arriving at that post promotion estimation.
Here’s the list of the 10 most shared posts on video from our selection of 10 top luxury fashion brands. Have an industry you’d be interested in seeing data on? Let us know.
